The 8TH Annual Play 4 The Kids Tournament benefiting Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will be hosted by Bear’s Best Atlanta located in Suwanee. Golf Magazine ranks Bear’s Best Atlanta as one of the top 10 courses you can play in America. The date is set for October 10, 2011 and we will be teeing off at 1:00 in a shotgun start.
Bear’s Best Atlanta measures 6,558 yards long from the Blue Tees. Varying elevations from tee to green coupled with strategically placed sand traps make for a challenging round of golf. For those of us who are not as proficient, the Scramble Format provides everyone a more level playing field.
Bear’s Best Atlanta is a unique course. Jack Nicklaus selected the best 18 holes from more than 200 course designs worldwide and put them into one extraordinary round of golf. The tournament is over and our interest has turned to the holidays. We just finished the Thanksgiving Holiday and the infamous Black Friday shopping experience. Well we don’t need to wait until next October to keep helping Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. During the Holidays, while they continue to have to financial needs, they have needs for toys for the patients. If you would like to make a toy donation, Holly Fogel will be our special elf delivering toys to Children’s Thursday Morning December 16, 2010. Toys should be dropped off at our hospitals. Please be sure to follow these important safety and infection control guidelines:
• All toys must be brand new and unwrapped.
• Recommended age labeling should be used as a guide: read safety messages on packaging.
• Toys should be sturdy. Avoid toys that can break, leaving sharp edges.
• Toys must be non-toxic.
• Avoid toys promoting violence or fighting.
• Toys with many small parts may not be appropriate.
• Rubber/Latex balloons are not allowed.
• Fire regulations prohibit electrical, spark-producing, or friction-producing toys.
We need gifts for newborn patients all the way up to 21 years old. Here are some of our specific needs and ideas:

This year’s event raised $22,339 which resulted in an after expense contribution to Children’s Miracle Network of $14,106.

All the planning and preparation is finally coming to fruition. All 33 teams participating in The 7th Annual Play 4 The Kids Golf Tournament benefiting Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta are getting ready to Tee Em Up.
Holly downloaded her minds plan of how things would flow on tournament day and if they go anywhere near her plan this will be an extremely successful well organized event. The volunteers all have their assignments, set up will be completed early Monday Morning and beverages will be iced down and waiting for you to start your loosening up process.
This year’s Raffle promises to be one of the best ever. Don’t forget to get your Raffle Package when signing in. Special Thanks to Michael Sena and The Home Depot in Snellville for this year’s Grand Prize.
